Vote for your preferred BrowserSuite ServoyHtmlEditor!

Lots of new things in the BrowserSuite with v0.9.45 that you can find on ServoyForge

Now I'm looking into adding even more cool stuff to the ServoyHtmlEditor but I need to know which flavor between FCKeditor, TinyMCE, CKEditor you favor most, so that I can start concentrating on it.

So please cast your vote for your preferred editor on the Servoy forum if you haven't done it already: http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15174

Thanks in advance!

SAP to Acquire Sybase

The Sybase Partner Newsletter contains a remarkable headline this month:

SAP to Acquire Sybase, Inc.
Strategic Move to Accelerate the Reach of SAP® Solutions across Mobile Platforms,
Help Companies Manage and Analyze Business Information and Processes on Any Device

Maybe this is not a coincidence with Servoy making the move to PostgreSQL ? :P

You can read the full article on Sybase Partner Newsletter here.

Servoy 5.2 goes PostgreSQL

Last weekend when I was browsing on the PostgreSQL website I discovered that Servoy 5.2 is going to use PostgreSQL 8.4 instead of Sybase Anywhere 11...

Hereby a quote from the article:

We chose PostgresSQL because it is the most powerful open source database," said Jan Aleman, CEO, Servoy. "Users can also run other databases at the same time. We support Sybase, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB/2, MySQL and others out of the box." PostgreSQL has won praise from its users and industry recognition, including the Linux New Media Award for Best Database System and five-time winner of the Linux Journal Editors' Choice Award for best DBMS.

What do you guys think about this move?

One of the very much followed site for Java developers is DZone, and its Java dedicated Universe: the JavaLobby, this is a site by developers for developers, and there is a lot of trafic.

So, today there is a new introduction article about Servoy, check it out! - A few hours after its publication, there is already more than 900 views!

VelocityReport first public release!

To celebrate Servoy Stuff web site reaching 10.000 visits today, I've made available the VelocityReport plugin.

You’ve heard rumours about it: they say it is going to change forever the way you do reporting in Servoy. The truth is that now you will have yet another powerful option to build your reports.

This is yet another (French-Canadian/American) Swiss knife for Servoy brought to you by Servoy Stuff and Jeff Bader!
We've coined it 'Servoy reports - the easy way' - and it lives up to its name ;-) - Not only can you build powerful HTML reports and export them to PDF with it, but you can also use it as an internal templating tool or an extended charting tool (with as much options as Google charts) and a barcode tool.

You can download it on the Servoy Stuff web site's related page.
You will also find a wiki with extended documentation and access to the source repository on the google code site.

Enjoy!

If you are a Servoy Alliance Network member you have received an invitation to attend a webinar next week with more details on this too.
